Space Property Rights and the Future

MISSION SUMMARY: The Asteroid 2004 GU9 is a Corkscrew Asteroid which is within 0.17 AU and 0.45 AU of Earths location for the foreseable decades. AU = Astronomical Units = 92,960,000 miles

Galactic Mining Industries, Inc. is going to send Telepossession Probe Sets to this Near Earth Target.
We will use Gamma and Neutron Spectroscopy to assay the asteroid.
Both the Lander and the Fly-Along-Spacecraft have both Gamma and Neutron Spectroscopic Surveying Capabilities.

Establishment that the asteroid is the property of Galactic Mining Industries, Inc. will allow for the leveraging of financing for the development of this space resource and establish precedent for all other Corporations or organizations around the world to take possession of more of these exceedingly abundant space resources.

Telepossession is the exercise of the common law principle of Pedis Possesseo. In English, To Walk On is to Own. http://www.space-mining.com/Telepossession.html
The concept of Telepossession is based on such United States laws as the Homestead Act of 1862 and the Mining Law Act of 1872. In each case the entity claiming a mining claim must show diligence by:
1. Establish a presence on the site,
2. Measure, Assay, Survey and Define the site,
3. Improve the site by improvements,
4. Beneficiate the resources found at the site

The Company intends on performing all of these functions in order to establish possession and so garner investment with the resultant leverage. This is within compliance of the Telepossession ruling in the case of the S.S. Central America in Maritime law as well - as described in the Telepossession article linked on this page.
